Old Line Bank History
The state of Maryland earned her nickname the “Old Line State” in 1776 during the first major battle of the Revolutionary War. If not for the “Maryland 400” who sacrificed their lives and allowed the Continental Army to escape, the war would have ended that day. Maryland’s regiment of soldiers, referred to as the “Old Line,” achieved the reputation as saviors of the cause of independence.
As a tribute to those brave Maryland men, Old Line Bank proudly chose its name.
Old Line Bank is a State Chartered banking association organized under the laws of the State of Maryland. The Bank was founded in 1989 originally as a National Bank under the name Old Line National Bank. On June 28, 2002, we converted to our current Maryland charter. We conduct a general banking business, consisting of granting secured and unsecured commercial and consumer loans, construction, mortgage and boat loans; checking services and interest bearing demand, savings and time deposit services. Currently, we have 39 full service branches; four in Anne Arundel County, eight in Baltimore County, two in Baltimore City, one in Calvert County, two in Carroll County, four in Charles County, two in Frederick County, one in Harford, one in Howard, five in Montgomery County, seven in Prince George’s County and two in Saint Mary’s County.
